PLUNDER OF PUBLIC MONEY BY UNION MINISTER MUKUL ROY

The UPA Government with beating of drums has announced initiation of austerity drive in view of the unprecedented economic crisis engulfing the entire country. Almost all the ministries and the departments of the Central Government and their ministers have been more or less abiding by the decision of the government in letter and spirit. The exception to the same is Mamata Banerjee and other Ministers belonging to her party.

She has in fact turned the Railway Ministry into her personal property. Showing thumb to the prime minister, she has been engaged in one after another inauguration of old trains in new names and laying afresh foundations stones of the same old projects spending huge money from the railway exchequer. Moreover, she has also been announcing one after another projects without having the sanction of neither the Railway Ministry nor the UPA Government.

Her follower Minister for Shipping Mukul Roy is not lagging behind her in this respect. He has spent more than Rs. 3 Lakhs for hiring the car in which he travels in the last 3 months since taking oath. The Calcutta Port Trust, which is under his ministry, has paid the entire bill to the “Pandey Travels” wherefrom the car has been hired. The details of the bills are as follows.

10-07-2009: Rs. 6,898=00
12-08-2009: Rs. 40,294=00
07-09-2009: Rs. 16,452=00
09-09-2009: Rs. 89,023=00
20-09-2009: Rs. 92,224=00
03-11-2009: Rs. 95,895=00

The total expenditure incurred on hired car comes to Rs. 3,40,786 (Rupees Three Lakhs Forty Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty-six).
Though he has spent such huge money on hiring a car for himself from the fund of the Calcutta Port Trust, he has visited the said organization for 3 times only during this period.

If a union minister spends more than Rs.1 Lakh on hiring a car only for official purpose, it can be imagined easily how much is incurred from public exchequer on his other facilities and amenities. This is nothing but blatant loot and plunder of public money.

Apart from travel business, the Pandey Travels have other businesses also. Shri Mukul Roy has inaugurated the “MBL Institute of Management”, a private college, owned by the Pandey Travels on 28-11-2009 on Chowringhee Road, Kolkata. This office of this private business organization is housed on the ground floor of Shantiniketan Building on Camac Street, Kolkata.

The sycophant spineless intellectuals are shamelessly silent on loot of public money by a union minister.

SOLD OUT INTELLECTUALS WITH MAOIST TERRORIST CHATRADHAR MAHATO IN LALGARH ON 17-06-2009

INDIAN RAILWAYS HANDS OVER VALUABLE RAILWAY LANDS TO PRIVATE BUSINESS HOUSES

Not for creating its own infrastructure. The Railway Ministry under the instruction of Mamata Banerjee has decided to hand over large quantum of vacant railway lands including prime agricultural lands to big business houses in Kolkata, Siliguri and other big cities of the country. The Railways have informed that it has already earmarked 3,744 acres of land for the purpose in prime areas of Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Ajamgarh, Guwhati, Kanpur, Kolkata and other cities. Renowned promoters and builders would be invited to construct shopping malls, hotels and business centres in these lands solely owned by the railways by virtue of Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

It is pertinent to point out that the Indian Railways have acquired agricultural lands in different parts of the country with the help of the respective state governments for constructing infrastructure of the railways. As for example, in Howrah it had acquired 700 acres of land in 1984-85 with the help of the state government for constructing a “Goods Terminal”.

Now, the railways plan to lease out 3,744 acres of acquired land to private parties. It expects to earn Rs. 2,700 crores on this account. The said 3,744 acres of land has already been handed over to Railway Land Development Authority.

In reply to question during last railway budget, Mamata Banerjee had stated on the floor of the parliament that her ministry had planned to use the vacant railway lands for commercial purposes with private entrepreneurs on PPP Model (Public-Private Partnership Model). She informed that thousands of acres of railway land have already been earmarked for the same.

It would not be out of place to mention that in Singur she did not allow the Nano Car Factory to come up on the plea of construction of factory, Shopping Malls, Beauty Parlours etc. over agricultural lands. But after becoming Railway Minister she is hell bent on handing over prime agricultural lands owned by the railways to private parties for the same purpose.

It is relevant to point out that the entire land of 3,744 acres including agricultural land was acquired for the development of railway infrastructure in terms of Land Acquisition Act, 1894. This land cannot be used for any purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally acquired as per law.

But in gross violation of the provisions of the relevant act, Mamata Banerjee has been promoting big business houses with some ulterior motive and hidden agenda.

The sycophant spineless intellectuals, who were so vocal during Singur and Nandigram episodes in the name of safeguarding agricultural land, are shamelessly silent on misuse of acquired agricultural lands of the railways for promoting private business. The reason is simple. Most of them remain purchased in this or that way to serve the interests of big business houses and finance capital. The duplicity of these perverted intellectuals, therefore, stand exposed to the people from all walks of life.

FAMOUS INTELLECTUALS PROTEST AGAINST MOAIST BRUTAL ACTIVITIES

ABOUT 40 EMINENT INTELLECTUALS, WRITERS AND ARTISTS ETC. JOINTLY ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT FROM NEW DELHI
“There has been a spate of growing murder and violence in certain areas of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal by armed persons acting on behalf of the ‘CPI (Maoist)’. We strongly feel that their use of the name of Mao Zedong, a widely respected figure, while carrying out the acts of carnage and killing, is reprehensible. Such acts can also in no way be justified in the name of a war against the state. While every conscious citizen opposes acts of oppression committed by members of the exploiting classes or individuals in the state apparatus, the so-called ‘Maoists’, by their violent acts of vendetta, torture and gruesome killings, are gravely damaging the cause of the popular democratic movement. The ‘Maoists’ are thus in fact working against the interests of the workers and peasants.

In order to isolate the ‘Maoists’ politically, it is however important that the Indian state do all that is necessary to restore its presence and credibility in tribal areas whose interests it has largely been ignoring. The central government should review its neo-liberal policies that have pauperized the tribal people and help the state governments to meeting their developmental challenges in these areas. Counter insurgency vigilante groups (such as Salwa Judum) have proved to be counter productive. Harassment and killing of innocent local people should be avoided while tackling the violence, and those responsible for such acts in the name of fighting the ‘Maoists’ should be punished. A genuine dialogue should be started with those ‘Maoists’ who are ready to give up the path of armed struggle.”

The signatories included Irfan Habib, Teesta Setalvad, Vijay Prashad, Usha Patnaik, Amiya Kumar Bagchi, M.K. Raina, Najaf Haider, Badri Raina, Shireen Moosvi, Jayati Ghosh, Iqtadar Alam Khan, Sohail Hashmi, Archana Prasad, Amar Farooqui, Ayesha Kidwai, Simi Malhotra, Nadim Rizavi, Sonya Surabhi Gupta, Lata Singh, Atlury Murali, Biswamoy Pati, Madhu Prasad, D.N. INDIAN RAILWAY FUND LOOTED BY MAOIST INTIELLECTUALS WITH THE HELP OF MAMATA BANERJEE

The whole country has been going through unprecedented crisis as a result of worldwide financial recession and less production of cereals in the country. The central government has therefore taken a decision for austerity drive in every ministry and organization under its control. Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Shri Pranab Kumar Mukherjee and others are actively abiding by this decision. As a part of this decision, they have already started to travel in economic class of air flights and brought down other expenses.

But this is not so with the Indian Railways under Mamata Banerjee. It seems that the Indian Railways is a separate entity out of the purview of the Central Government. She considers it to be her private individual property and misuses railway money extravagantly for the promotion of her party interests.

After becoming Union Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee has formed three new Committees to reward the Maoist intellectuals and the opportunists who had worked for her in the last Parliamentary Elections, 2009. Under her instruction, the Railway Board under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India has issued a Government Order bearing No. ERB-1/2009/23/33 on 9th October 2009 constituting the said committees with detailed facilities.

1 Heritage and Cultural Committee under the chairpersonship of Smt. Shaoli Mitra

2 Passengers’ Amenities Committee under the chairpersonship of Shri Subhaprasanna Bhattacharjee

3 Passengers’ Amenities Committee under the chairpersonship of Shri Derek-o-Brayen

The entire expenses of these committees amounting to more than Rs. 50 Lakhs per month will be borne by the Indian Railways. Each full time member of the Committee will be paid Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) as monthly allowance and each part-timer will be paid Rs. 25,000/- per month without performing any job. They will be also provided with the following facilities and amenities free of cost as per the said Government Order.

· Meeting allowance @ Rs. 520/-per meeting

· Free 1st Class AC Railway Pass with one companion

· Travel in Executive Class by flight

· Travel on road by car to be provided by the Indian Railways

· Lodging and boarding in Class I hotel anywhere

· Free telephone with ISD/STD facilities both at residence and office

· Free Medical treatment and facilities at the cost of the Indian Railways

· TA & DA at par with railway officers

Each member of the committees can appoint Private Secretary and required number of peons.

The Chairperson of each committee can extend the Committee by co-opting any person though to be necessary.

These committees are unprecedented in the history of the Indian Railways. This is the first time that such expensive committees have been constituted at the cost of the public exchequer to accommodate sycophants and so-called champions of tribals and downtrodden. These sycophants often used to raise the questions of nepotism, corruption and exploitation. But now they are most shamelessly engaged in the same.

Maoist intellectuals Bibhas Chakraborty, theatre personality, Arpita Ghosh, theatre personality, Joy Goswami, poet, Bratya Basu, theatre personality, Pallab Kirtania, Singer, Rituparna Ghosh, film director, Ustad Rashid Khan, artist, GS Raitela, Director General, National Council of Science Museum, Ratan Thiyam, theatre personality and many others have been made their members.

Apart from this, the sycophant singers are being paid abnormal fees for singing in the inaugural functions. Shri Nachiketa Chakraborty has been paid Rs. 70,000/- per function. Similarly, the Maoist singer Pallab Kirtania has also been paid abnormal fees for the same purpose.

The loot and plunder of public exchequer by Mamata Banerjee along with her Maoist intellectuals and sycophants is unprecedented in the history of Indian Railways. All opposition parties irrespective of affiliation should raise the matter on the floor of the Parliament, which is now in session to save public money from being plundered by the so-called champions of tribals and farmers.

It is most surprising that Medha Patkar, Arundhati Roy and other intellectuals have been maintaining mysterious and motivated silence over the issue.

MAOIST INTELLECTUALS LOOT RAILWAY FUND

There is no denying the fact that a number of Maoist intellectuals and other opportunists in the guise of impartiality and neutrality had played a pivotal role in sabotaging industrialization at Singur, Nandigram and developmental works in West Bengal during the last three years in connivance with industrial competitors, big business houses and imperialists. They had also worked day in and day out campaigning in favour of Mamata Banerjee and her party candidates during the last Parliamentary Elections, 2009. Apart from this, they have also been supporting Maoists and instrumental in inciting criminals and antisocials to create serious problems of law and order in the state to destabilize the Left Front Government in West Bengal.

After becoming Union Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee has constituted three new Committees to reward these Maoist intellectuals and the opportunists.

3 Passengers’ Services Committee under the chairpersonship of Shri Derek-o-Brayen

The entire expenses of these committees will be borne by the Indian Railways. Each full time member of the Committee will be paid Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) as monthly salary and each part-timer will be paid Rs. 25,000/- per month. They will be also provided with the following facilities and amenities free of cost as per the said Government Order.

· Meeting allowance @ Rs. 520/-per day

Each and every Member of the Committees can appoint his/her own Private Secretary and of peons. All of them will also be provided separate office and expenses for the same.

The Chairperson of each committee can enlarge his /her Committee by co-opting any person thought to be necessary.

The total expenditure in maintaining these three Committees comes around 50 Lakhs (Rupees Fifty Lakhs) per month.

These committees are unprecedented in the history of the Indian Railways. This is the first time that such expensive committees have been constituted at the cost of the public exchequer to accommodate sycophants and ‘so-called’ champions of tribals and downtrodden. These sycophants often used to raise the questions of nepotism, corruption and exploitation. But now they are most shamelessly drawing huge money from railway exchequer without performing any job.

The pseudo intellectuals Bibhas Chakraborty, theatre personality, Arpita Ghosh, theatre personality, Joy Goswami, poet, Bratya Basu, theatre personality, Pallab Kirtania, Singer, Rituparna Ghosh, film director, Ustad Rashid Khan, artist, GS Raitela, Director General, National Council of Science Museum, Ratan Thiyam, theatre personality and many others have been made their members. Rajesh Agarwal, Executive Director of Railway Board, will act as the Coordinating Officer.

The entire exercise is nothing but blatant misuse of power and public exchequer for the promotion of the interests of the sycophants and the party.

MOST TRUSTED EX-BEAUROCRAT OF RAILWAY MINISTER RESPONSIBILE FOR KILLING OF INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN NAXALBARI MOVEMENT OF 1967

Maoist Mahasweta Devi, Medha Patkar and their team of mentally bankrupt ‘pseudo’ intellectuals in collusion with Mamata Banerjee, right reactionaries, imperialists and finance capital have been waging a total war against the Left Front Government led by the CPI (M) in West Bengal.

There is no denying the fact that Dipak Kumar Ghosh, former IAS Officer of West Bengal and now a TMC leader, is one of their most trusted and beloved lieutenants in this battle. The opportunistic gang up between Maoist Mahasweta Devi and Mamata Banerjee-Dipak Kumar Ghosh is not only an irony of fate but also a historical blunder as well as an utter ideological bankruptcy and lack of pragmatism on the part of Mahasweta Devi, Maoists and the perverted intellectuals.

This is the same Dipak Kumar Ghosh who was responsible for the butchery of 8-10 women and children on 25th May, 1967 at Prasadujote in Naxalbari, consequent upon which the present ongoing Naxalbari Movement started.

A letter of Shri Arun Kumar Mukherjee, former Director General of Police, West Bengal under the caption “Putting the record straight” has been published in the “Letters to the Editor” column of “The Statesman” of Kolkata edition on 19-09-2009 in response to an article written by Dipak Kumar Ghosh in the same daily on 27-08-2009.

If anyone goes through this letter, he will certainly come to know how the coward, impotent, sluggish and atrocious Dipak Kumar Ghosh had butchered innocent women and children in Naxalbari on that fateful day for no fault of theirs.

The full text of the letter is mentioned below.

Sir,

This is with reference to the article by Dipak Kumar Ghosh “A monster takes on its creator” (Perspective 27 August). I am writing this letter to correct some of his gross distortion of facts about the Naxalbari movement of 1967, in particular about the period during which I happened to be the Superintendent of Police of Darjeeling district of which the Naxalbari region is part.

Let me correct the first distortion of Mr. Ghosh’s article “…Police Inspector Sonam Wangdi (36) was killed by Naxalite arrows on 24 May 1967. The police operation started the very next day and within a few days, the movement was controlled….” No police operation started on 25 May nor the movement controlled within a few days. What really happened on that day (25 May, 1967) was the most distressing incident during the entire duration of the Naxalbari movement.

On coming across a crowd of agitated villagers consisting mostly of women, children and some men at Prasadujote, on the outskirts of Naxalbari, a panicky SDO (Mr. Ghosh, the writer of the article) ordered repeated police firings as the officer who was in charge of an armed police contingent ~ resulting in the totally avoidable death of nearly 8-10 persons mostly women and children.

On that morning, the divisional commissioner, (Ivan Surita) the deputy commissioner of Darjeeling district (Manamoy Bhattacharya) as also the additional deputy commissioner (land acquisition) and the SDO, Siliguri sub-division (Mr. Ghosh) accompanied me to Naxalbari police station to ease the tension among policemen as a result of the murder of Sonam Wangdi and serious injuries to the officer-in-charge of Naxalbari PS and several others the previous day.

When this party with the SDO returned to Naxalbari police station with details of the casualty, we were outraged and totally shattered because all our efforts during the previous months had been to avoid bloodshed.

On seeing the SDO, the divisional commissioner, Ivan Surita, was about to physically chastise him and so was the otherwise affable deputy commissioner Manamoy Bhattacharya; both of them had to be restrained by me, stating that it would serve no purpose except to add to the existing tension, and more so since we all were within the full view of our subordinate officers in and around the police station.

What followed thereafter has remained a matter of great mortification for me: as a consequence of repeated pleadings of Bhattacharya (DC, Darjeeling district) and Kalyan Biswas (additional DC, estate acquisition, Darjeeling district) I had to agree to send a wireless message to the IGP/DIG, Jalpaiguri Range, and others which deliberately conveyed less than the whole truth about the Prasadujote incident. And all this was done to save the SDO who was otherwise destined to be severely punished.

The second distortion is even more brazen. Mr. Ghosh writes: “At the early stage (of the Naxalbari movement?), the police operations at Naxalbari were directly planned in the control room in Siliguri by the deputy commissioner of Darjeeling and the divisional commissioner of Jalpaiguri in consultation with the SP, Darjeeling, and the DIG, Jalpaiguri Range”.

This is clearly a flight of fancy on the part of Mr. Ghosh because hardly did I see any of them (including the Siliguri SDO) in the control room, not to speak of planning the police operations there.

The third distortion is perhaps a great joke for all those who even had a cursory acquaintance with the unfolding events of May to August, 1967 when the movement was t its peak. Mr. Ghosh claims that after the planning part, the operations “were carried out in the hot and humid field by the SDO and the additional DC…”.

More than me, my esteemed and late friends Manamoy Bhattacharya and Kalyan Biswas would have been both amused and outraged at such bizarre claims of the SDO who was never seen by anybody top set foot outside the precincts of Siliguri town during those troubled days and nights.

Yours, etc.

MAOISTS AND THE INTELLECTUALS IN WEST BENGAL by Subhanil

More than 70 people, particularly belonging to the CPI(M), have been brutally murdered by the Maoists in West Bengal over the last few months. These murders have been the most inhuman and gruesome in the political history of West Bengal at least in the last three decades. Teachers have been killed in front of students, poor people have been shot dead following which even the cremation was not allowed, a young girl and her mother have been burnt alive, all because of a simple crime that these people were supporters and sympathisers of CPI(M). The criminal Maoist party has orchestrated this crime in the name of ‘revolution’ and the great Mao Tse Tung. Mao had said that ‘revolutionaries must move amongst people as fish swims in water’. The Maoists in our country on the other hand are guilty of being the hunter of the people. It is beyond one’s comprehension as to how killing poor people can bring any social transformation leave alone revolution in India. It is, however, not too difficult to grasp the real intention of the Maoists, which is to physically annihilate the CPI(M) in West Bengal. As always left wing adventurism has paved the way for complete degeneration into worst form of bourgeois ruling class politics. That is why the politburo member of the Maoist party has no qualms in openly declaring that Ms Mamata Banerjee should be the next Chief Minister of West Bengal. The Maoists today in West Bengal are nothing more than the mercenaries of the Trinamool Congress, whose only job is to terrorize people and kill CPI(M) supporters and activists.

A section of the intellectuals in West Bengal today have taken on the mantle of being the cheer leaders of the Trinamool-Maoists combine. In the name of ‘democracy’, ‘human rights’ and such noble concepts, these intellectuals have always been extraordinarily expedient in criticising or abusing the CPM and the Left Front in West Bengal. This poses no problem. Every individual has the right to criticise any party. But a modicum of consistency and honesty is expected from so called ‘neutral’ people, which they conspicuously lack. Till date, they have not even uttered a murmur of protest against the killing of more than 70 CPM cadres. There has not been even a symbolic protest against the gruesome killing of the election officials, doctors and nurses by the Maoists in the state. More recently, the sensitive intellectuals of Bengal have maintained criminal silence against beheading of the police inspector in Jharkhand. In other words, their protests are selective, inconsistent and politically motivated.

It can be argued that even this inconsistency or selectivity is politically justified. It must be acknowledged that the intellectuals have the right to support or oppose anyone that they want. Ultimately, that is the essence of politics. The problem arises when this politics is played under the veil of ‘neutrality’ and an implicit moral high ground on their part. If indeed you are supporting the Maoists, say that openly. Do not hide behind your self-created false image of being friends of all people, since ultimately your creative minds do not even have a drop of tear or grief for the activists of CPM, majority of whom are poor people. The real question is what explains this behaviour on the part of such ‘honourable’ people. According to me, the answer to this question is not only about the political choices that these people individually have made, aided by certain short comings of the CPM in West Bengal. I think that the deeper problem with these intellectuals is the fact that unlike intellectuals of yester-years, they are completely cut-off from the struggles of the people, at a broader level, both against the Indian establishment or imperialism. This wedge between the people’s struggle and the intellectuals on the other hand is a direct product of the policies of liberalization and upward mobility of the middle class and these very sections of the intelligentsia. It is therefore not surprising that these so called intellectuals never had anything to say on the Indo-US nuclear deal, farmers’ suicides in various parts of the country, sell out of public sector enterprises, attack on the working class etc. In all of these issues it was the Left and the CPM which were at the forefront of struggles to safeguard the interests of the people. In these struggles these intellectuals were never even fellow-travellers of the working class and toiling masses of the country. Hence, as a logical corollary, their political hyperactivity today is directed against the very forces who have posed the most serious challenge to imperialism and their cohorts in India. There was a time in West Bengal, when the finest literature and art was produced reflecting social issues and struggles of the people. Who can forget the haunting stories of Manik Bandyopadhyay on Bengal famine, the films of Satyajit Ray on urban unemployment, Mrinal Sen’s films on workers’ movements, Ghatak’s films on the refugee problem, poetry by Sukanto Bhattacharya, Subhas Mukherjee, plays of Utpal Dutta, songs of Salil Chowdhury etc etc. Each of these intellectuals through their works of art, not only reflected the lives and struggles of the people but inspired social movements and upheavals. This was because each one of them had a commitment to social cause and strived for changing the world for a better place, although their ideas on how to change or what will be the change were quite different. The current bunch of intellectuals (barring a few), are cut off from the day to day survivalstruggle of the masses. The post modern hegemonisation of the intelligentsia in Bengal has blinded them from imperialism and the need for organized left movement. However, the romanticism and petty-bourgeois radicalism are still in tact. Therefore it is fashionable to ‘protest’. Unable to intellectually comprehend the role that imperialism plays in our lives or the struggle of the Left against it, they have fallen back on blind opposition of left in West Bengal. This blindness and intellectual bankruptcy on their part have found them in the company of the Maoists, Mamata Banerjee et al.

From the point of view of the left however, such opposition on the part of intellectuals should notreally matter too much. What is important is to build up solid left resistance to imperialism and the neo-liberal anti-people policies in the country. Only by building up uncompromising struggles will the left emerge as the champion of the masses and will find support from sensible sections of the intelligentsia too. In other words, only through intensifying class struggle can the left emerge victorious isolating both the Trinamool-Maoists as well as their cheer leaders from the masses.

RAILWAY MINISTER ALONG WITH MAOISTS ORGANISES HIJACKING OF RAJDHANI EXPRESS

RAILWAY MINISTER WITH MAOIST LEADER CHATRADHAR MAHATO IN LALGARH

The well calculated pre-planned mysterious drama of hijacking New Delhi bound Bhubaneswar-Rajdhani Express on 27th October, 2009 by the Maoists in connivance with the Railway Minister endangering more than 200 passengers including women and children for the release of Maoist leader Chattradhar Mahato by way of black-mailing and its subsequent developments have raised many a questions in the minds of the people of the country.

· When the news about the detention of the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express by the Maoists reached Mamata Banerjee during her press briefing at the same time of happening, why was she hell bent on proving that it was not the handiwork of the terrorist outfit?

· Why till today she has not once condemned the Maoists by name for the ghastly incident of detention of Rajdhani Express?

· Why is she still bent upon shielding the Maoists?

· Why there was no Railway Protection Force in spite of knowing fully that the train was to pass through Maoist infested forest area of Jangalmahal? Why did the RPF get down at Kharagpur Railway Station allowing the train to proceed without any escort? How did this news of the train proceeding without escort reach the Maoists in advance who captured it so easily without any resistance?

· 2443-UP Bhubaneswar-Rajdhani Express usually leaves on Monday and Friday from Bhubaneswar. But this train left on Tuesday. So, it was a special train. Despite this fact, the train was running without any escort from Kharagpur.

· When the train neared the Banstala Railway Station, why was its speed slowed down?

· The Central Home Secretary Shri G.K.Pillai very categorically said that the incident was the handiwork of the Maoists in the garb of PCPA. Despite this admission, why the frontal organization of the Maoists working under the name and style PCPA (People’s Committee against Police Atrocities), which was responsible for the incident, was not named in the FIR lodged by the Railway Authorities with the concerned Police Station?

· Despite being the mob led by TMC leaders Santosh Mahato of Kantapahari, Man Singh Kisku of Tiyakathi, Dileswar Mahato of Nalbona, Paru Mahato of Baghghada, Madan Mahato and Fantus Murmu of Bhulabheda, Badal Mahato and Bidyut Singh of Dharampur and Maoists, why the Railway Authorities did not mention their name in the FIR?

In this connection it would not be out of place to mention that all these TMC leaders were also present beside top Maoist leader Kishanji during the release of the abducted police officer Atindranath Dutta on 22-10-2009 in front of Bhulageda Primary School in the presence of media. The whole country witnessed this drama in different TV Channels.

· When the train restarted its journey, why the graffiti asking for release of Maoist leader Chatradhar Mahato and other political slogans written on the train compartments by Ragesh Mahato, a TMC leader of Kharagpur No. 2 Block, were not erased? Was it a plan to reach the message to the entire nation?

· When the train reached New Delhi Station, why the passengers were not allowed to meet media persons?

· The Central Minister Sisir Adhikari has categorically informed the media that he had prior information about the attack on the train. Being in a responsible position, why did not he inform the Intelligence agencies of both the Central Government and the State Government as well as the Indian Railways in the larger interest of the safety and security of the train and its passengers.

· The Maoists have blown up railway station, railway tracks and other infrastructures of the Indian Railways in different parts of the country. They have openly taken responsibility for the same. But till today why Mamata Banerjee being the Railway Minister has not yet once condemned the Maoists by name for the same?

Does not it prove that the whole episode was a joint operation engineered and carried out planfully by Mamata Banerjee and the Maoists for the release of the Maoist TMC leader Chatradhar Mahato?

Being at the helm of the Home Ministry, P. Chidambram must have report about the unholy alliance between the Maoists and Mamata Banerjee. Despite all these serious questions, facts and circumstances, both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have been playing duplicity with the nation by defending the Railway Minister for petty political gains which is not only unbecoming on their part but also poses a serious threat to the internal security and safety of the entire country.

It is proved beyond doubt that all their tall talk about the Maoist menace is nothing but an eyewash and hypocrisy.

WHAT THE STATESMAN SAYS ABOUT RAILWAY MINISTER AND HER ALLY MAOISTS

EXTRACT FROM THE ARTICLE UNDER CAPTION “WHY THE MIDDLE CLASS LOVES THE MAOISTS’ BY AMULYA GANGULI, FORMER ASSISTANT EDITOR, STATESMAN PUBLISHED IN THE SAME BLIND ANTI-CPI (M) NEWSPAPER ON 28-10-2009

“It is noteworthy that at a time when the Maoist presence in Lalgarh had grabbed West Bengal’s attention, Aparna Sen was busy shooting her latest film, Iti Mrinalini, whose hero is a Naxalite.”

“…. a number of prominent writers led by the Sahitya Academy award winner, Mahasweta Devi, have been openly supportive of the Maoists……….the intellectuals tend to legitimize the depredations of the Maoists.”

“Whether it is Aruna Roy or Medha Patkar or Binayak Sen, the present day democracy is very nearly a fraud; it does not reflect the aspirations of the poor”

“It is clear that to these intellectuals, the fact of the Parliament and State assemblies being elected on the basis of universal franchise means little…Although they donot say it, their preference is seemingly for a Chinese style people’s democracy.”

“Hence, the call for negotiations although the Maoists, like the Naxalites before them, have no interest in d a dialogue. Their stance is not dissimilar to that of the Islamic Jehadis. Both these groups live in lack and white Manichean world, where there are no shades of grey. It is a fight to the finish for them because each of them believes in an ideal world where there is no scope for compromise and no place for their enemies. Just as the Jehadis cannot be expected to come to terms with those who do not believe in their version of Islam, the Maoists cannot reach a settlement with bourgeois establishment…”

“Apart from the support of the intellectuals, the Maoists have also received the surreptitious backing of politicians, as the ties between them and Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal show. These connections explain Banerjee’s preference for a dialogue since all the Maoists are not ‘bad’. Clearly the political imperative of creating law and order problems for the Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee’s government matters more to her than the unabashed display of cynicism involved in siding with an essentially anti-national force.”

EXTRACT FROM THE EDITORIAL OF “THE STATEMAN” ON THE KILLING OF POLICE OFFICERS AT SANKRAIL POLICE STATION ON 20-10-2009

“Deafening has been the rather diplomatic silence of Mamata Banerjee. Consistently opposed to the joint offensive, she has neither condemned the killings and abduction…”

RAILWAY MINISTER AND HER MAOIST INTELLECTUALS

The CPI (Maoist) is a four-tier organization. The first tier consists of Maoist ideologues, the 2nd the ‘so-called’ intellectuals and human rights organization, the 3rd being its frontal organizations and the 4th the armed cadres operating in different states.

The ‘so-called’ intellectuals and human rights activists such as Medha Patkar, Mahasweta Devi, Aparna Sen, Sujat Bhadra, Vinayak Sen, Kousik Sen, Bibhas Chakraborty, Pallab Kirtania, Pratul Mukhopadhyay, Shaoli Mitra and others represent the 2nd tier. Most of them are blind anti-Communist. They not only always justify, glorify and defend the destructive and murderous activities of the Maoists in both the electronic and print media but also try to legitimize them. These foreign funded ‘pseudo’ intellectuals have close contacts with imperialists and forces that are working to disintegrate our country. They are now assigned the task to destabilize the Left Front Government in West Bengal.

Now, the question arises who these so-called intellectuals are affiliated to politically.

MEDHA PATKAR

In different states of India, there are suicides by farmers, SEZ, hunger, land acquisition, drought, industrialization, urbanization, construction of Thermal Power Plants, aerodromes, expansion of Roads and so on. Thousands of innocent Muslims where killed in Gujarat. But this ‘so-called’ intellectual was never by their side. She is only concerned how to destabilize the Left Front Government as a part of a greater conspiracy hatched by internal finance capital. The modus operandi and her source of fund are very mysterious.

MAHASWETA DEVI

Recipient of Magsaysay Award. This award is given to those only who are blind anti-Communist and anti-Leftist.

SUNAND SANYAL

Blind anti-Communist intellectual of West Bengal

DEBABRATA BANDYOPADHYAY

Blind anti-Communist former IAS officer who has also worked in a high position in the World Bank. He has connections with international finance capital.

TARUN SANYAL

Once a Communist but now a blind anti-Communist

SUBHAPRASANNA BHATTACHRJEE

Blind anti-Communist painter

PALLAB KIRTANIA

A Maoist singer

BIBHAS CHAKRABORTY

Once used to stick to Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee like a leech. After managing valuable land in Salt Lake and other undue facilities, now this theatre personality has turned anti-CPI (M).

PRATUL MUKHOPADYAY

A Maoist singer

KOUSIK SEN

Once used to stick to Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee like a leech. After managing undue facilities, now this theatre personality has turned anti-CPI (M).

SUJAT BHADRA

A Maoist working in the garb of human rights activist

APARNA SEN

Film actress jumped into the bandwagon of others for mere publicity

JOY GOSWAMI

Blind anti-Communist poet who desires 5 beheaded heads of CPI (M) workers in his breakfast dish daily

SHAOLI MITRA

Blind anti-Communist theatre personality. Her father was also a recipient of Magsaysay Award. He had supported Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi.

PURNENDU BOSE

Maoist leader who acts as a liaison between Mamata Banerjee and the Maoists

BRATYA BASU

A dramatist affiliated to CPI (Maoist)

SUMAN KABIR

Blind anti-Communist singer who has been elected to the Lok Sabha on TMC ticket. Changed his religion a number of times for marriage.

DOLA SEN

A Maoist leader who remains sticked to Mamata Banerjee like a leech and bodyguard

The following comments made by James Petras, former CIA Agent, in his article named “The CIA and the Cultural World Revisited” fits to these foreign funded ‘pseudo’ intellectuals very correctly and appropriately.

“The CIA was especially keen on publishing disillusioned ex-communists like Silone, Koestler, and Gide…… None of these prestigious intellectuals dared to raise any doubts or questions regarding U.S. support of the mass killing in colonial Indochina and Algeria, the witch hunt of U.S. intellectuals or the paramilitary (Ku Klux Klan) lynchings in the southern United States. Such banal concerns would only "play into the hands of the Communists," “(p 3)

“What was particularly bizarre about this collection of CIA-funded intellectuals was …… their pretense that they were disinterested seekers of truth, iconoclastic humanists, freespirited intellectuals, or artists for art’s sake, who counterposed themselves to the corrupted "committed" house "hacks" of the Stalinist apparatus.”

These hypocrites shamelessly call themselves neutral and impartial but all of them worked actively for the TMC-Congress-SUCI alliance in the last Parliamentary Elections, 2009.

Hence, it is not surprising that these foreign agents in the garb of ‘so-called’ intellectuals are never seen taking out any procession or organizing any meeting, seminar or convention against imperialism or communal fundamentalists or for ‘Aila’ victims. They don’t utter a single word against the rise of finance capital, neo-liberal aggression and its Indian collaborators, the BJP and the Congress, or their sister concern in West Bengal, the TMC (except on the aftermath of the Gujarat carnage which was a soft target to prove one’s progressiveness). They never raised their voice against the Hyde act or US naval activities, or against the New Economic Policy of the Centre. The only target is the CPI (M) as the epitome of suppression of voice, corruption, rape of democracy and injustice to the poor.

The one and only one aim of these perverts is to ensure rise of Maoist Fascist forces with red flags as was done by the ‘socalled’ intellectuals in Germany to ensure rise of Hitler.

RAILWAY MINISTER EXPRESSES SYMPATHY FOR THE MAOISTS

The opinion expressed by top Maoist leader Kishanji and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee in respect of each other in different media from time to time.

KISHANJI:

“Trinamool Congress is a party led by an individual. So, it is possible for it to work for the common people. Mamata Banerjee is the fittest person for the chair of the Chief Minister of West Bengal. So, we want to see her as the next CM.”

MAMATA BANERJEE:

“If Kishanji has really faith in us it is good. I request Kishanji for a dialogue and discussion with us.”

KISHANJI:

“We were with the TMC in Nandigram and Khejuri. Mamata Banerjee is to decide whether she would remain with us in Lalgarh or help the atrocities of the joint forces.”

MAMATA BANERJEE:

“There is no ‘Mao’ or ‘Meu’ in Lalgarh. Here, people are fighting against non-development. We support the ongoing agitation in Lalgarh.”

KISHANJI:

“Mamata Banerjee should take initiative to stop join operation in Lalgarh. She is in the Central Cabinet. She should demand stoppage of state terror.”

MAMATA BANERJEE:

“The joint force is committing atrocities on the people of Lalgarh. The Central Government has not done proper by sending CRPF at the request of the CPI (M). We demand immediate stoppage of joint operation.”

KISHANJI:

“Maoists have not killed anyone in Lalgarh for creating terror. The people have punished the CPI (M) and the police for their atrocities.”

MAMATA BANERJEE:

“Nobody is killing the CPI (M) supporters. The are being killed due to their own internal quarrel.”

KISHANJI:

“I congratulate the intellectuals of Kolkata for supporting the Lalgarh agitation.”

MAMATA BANERJEE:

“The intellectuals have done nothing wrong in going to Lalgarh to extend their support to the Lalgarh agitation led by Chatradhar Mahato. They can act as negotiators for discussion with the Maoists.”

KISHANJI:

“The joint operation has to be stopped. The police have to remain confined to camps. I cannot guarantee the life of the abducted Officer-in-Charge of the Sankrail Police Station.”

MAMATA BANERJEE:

“It is to be considered afresh, whether the joint operation is yielding any result or not. I am a Central Minister. So, I cannot say anything further. It is not possible.”

WHAT IS THE ORGANISATION SET UP OF RAILWAY MINISTER'S MOST TRUSTED ALLY THE MAOISTS?

There is no denying the fact that the Maoist terrorist outfit is a perversion of Marxism-Leninism. In fact, it is an organization of assassins, hired killers, extortionists, blackmailers, abductors and mercenaries. It reportedly owns a fund amounting to more than 1,500 crores. The operation of the Maoists not only remain concentrated to kidnapping and looting of passengers traveling in trains and buses but also felling and selling of costly trees in collusion with wood smugglers in Jharkhand, Lalgarh, Jangalmahal and other areas. They also blow up bridges and other structures made of low quality materials to destroy proofs and evidences in order to help the contractors in exchange of money. In the name of fighting SEZ they are actually creating their own SEZ (Special Exploitation Zone) wherein these activities can be carried out easily and uninterruptedly in the name of ‘so-called’ revolution and ‘Maoism’.

It is in close contact with NSCN (IM) and ULFA, ex-LTTE cadres, National Socialist Council of Nagaland (I-M), Pakistan supported terrorist outfits and other separatist movements of North-East. They are in possession of at least 6,500 regular weapons including AK 47 rifles and SLRs

4TH TIER

Armed cadres with sophisticated arms and ammunitions

RAILWAY MINISTER SILENT ON MAOIST BRUTALITIES ON INDIAN SECURITY PERSONNEL

The Maoists believe in the “annihilation of class enemies” and in “extreme violence” as a means to armed seizure of state power through guerrilla warfare. With this perspective, participation in elections and engagement with the prevailing ‘democracy’ are rejected. Their actions and ideas are incompatible to a democratic set up.

The CPI (Maoist) is a four-tier organization. The first tier consists of Maoist ideologues, the 2nd the ‘so-called’ intellectuals and human rights organization, the 3rd being its frontal organizations and the 4th the armed cadres.

In last one year (from September, 2008 to August, 2009) the Maoists have killed 253 police personnel in different parts of the country.

Maharashtra is the worst affected state. Here, so far the Maoists have killed 72 police personnel. Next comes Chhattisgarh where 68 policemen have become victim to the Maoist violence. Then comes Jharkhand where 51 police personnel have fallen prey to the Maoists.

So far they have killed a total of 845 security personnel including police in the country. The state wise figure is as hereunder.

Some ‘so-called’ intellectuals as well as ‘pseudo’ human rights activists representing the Maoists have been urging the Governments both at the centre and the states to lay down arms and shun ‘so-called’ state terror as a pre-condition for a dialogue with the Maoists. They are of course intentionally playing into the hands of the antinational terrorist outfit with some ulterior motive despite knowing fully their ultimate aim, objective and modus operandi.

These perverts never condemn one after another brutality perpetrated by the Maoists in different states for the last few years. Abduction, extortion of money at gun point, butchering, open trial & sentencing to death in public and other gruesome activities on the part of the Maoists seem to them a birthright of the perpetrators. On the other hand, whenever the Government arrests any of them or takes any action in the defence of the common people from the Maoist marauders they plunge into the arena making a hue and cry in the name of ‘so-called’ human rights and natural justice for them under the constitution, which the Maoists discard.

ARREST RAILWAY MINISTER FOR PLAYING WITH THE LIVES OF THE RAILWAY PASSENGERS

The whole world witnessed with terror and panic how more than 300 Maoist hooligans in the garb of “Peoples' Committee Against Police Atrocities” (PCAPA) stopped the running Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express at Banstala Railway Station at about 2-45 p.m. on 27-10-2009 and subjected its more than 200 passengers to inhuman torture and terror, both mental and physical, for more than 5 hours at a stretch at gunpoint. Besides looting their belongings, many compartments were damaged severely. The train drivers were also abducted and many passengers were assaulted for no fault. The mob belonging to nearby villages Manikpara, Joalbhanga, Tiyakathi, Kunduldihi, Nalbona and Banstala was not only led by 2 armed women cadres of Maoists but also by Man Singh Kisku of Tiyakathi, Dileswar Mahato of Nalbona and other leaders of Trinamool Congress. The place of the incident falls in the Bandhghara Gram Panchayat near Ward No. 11 of Jhargram Municipality. This Gram Panchayat is run by TMC-Jharkhandi Alliance.

The one and only demand of the gangsters was the release of Chatradhar Mahato, the most beloved Maoist ‘pseudo’ tribal leader of Medha Patkar, Mahasweta Devi and the ‘so-called’ human rights activists, who not only shamelessly and audaciously justify and glorify but also defend all the criminal activities of the Maoists. These ‘so-called’ intellectuals and human right activists have not yet spent a single word to condemn the cowardly act of keeping in captivity innocent passengers including women and children by their dearly loved Maoists for hours together.

It is also most shocking and unfortunate that while addressing a press conference at the same time in New Delhi, Mamata Banerjee did not utter even a single word against the Maoists. Even she avoided naming them, who are every now and then engaged in murdering innocent people and security forces as well as blowing up railway tracks, trains, railway stations, schools, mobile towers, bridge and government buildings in the country. On the other hand, she said that the incident was not the handiwork of the Maoists. She ridiculously and irresponsibly misspent time in trying to put the blame on the CPI (M) for the incident in order to earn petty and narrow political mileage instead of arranging timely measures for the rescue of the endangered passengers. When the Home Ministry of the Central Government very categorically refused any talks with the criminals for a swap, she even wanted to have a discussion with the Maoist gangsters surpassing her limits.

It is proved beyond all doubts that the Indian Railways and its passengers are no longer safe and secure in the hands of Mamata Banerjee who herself is a collaborator of the Maoists and allowing them to destroy national properties in a pre-planned manner.

Many many thanks and congratulations both to the Central Home Minister and the Chief Minister of West Bengal for taking a tough and bold stand in time. Their well-timed intervention enabled safe and sound rescue of the ill-fated passengers.

Last but not the least. The utter irresponsibility and perversion of the Central Minister Sisir Adhikari have surpassed all tolerable limits.

While the mayhem was still going on, he declared that the previous day (26-10-2009) at 7-30 p.m. he had received advance information from a secret source about the incident to take place next day. Now, the following questions arise very naturally and logically.

(1) If so, why did not he inform the matter to his Supremo Mamata Banerjee who is also the Railway Minister of the entire country and the Central Government in which he is a Minister?

(2) Why did not he even inform the matter to the Railway Ministry in the interest of the safety and security of the passengers?

(3) Being a central minister, why did not he inform the intelligence agencies of the country?

(4) Why did not the intelligence agencies of the country and the railway intelligence did not receive any such advance information from their own sources.

(5) When the train was stopped, why few hundred TMC supporters took out processions and rallies at Midnapur Town in support of the detention of the Rajdhani Express and its passengers by the Maoists?

Last but not the least. The mysterious movements of the Central Minister Sisir Adhikari in the evening of the previous day (26-10-2009) have raised many questions.

(1) Why did he go to Midnapur Medical College & Hospital at 7-00 p.m. to see Sahebram Murmu and other Maoists now under treatment for injury received while fighting with joint forces at Lalgarh?

(2) Why did he support the Maoists while addressing a rally in front of the office of the Subdivisional Officer, Midnapur the same day?

(3) Why did he attend a meeting with the Maoists at night of 25-10-2009 in the house of TMC leader Salil Saha at Shalboni? It may be noted that immediately after this meeting the Maoists gave a call for “3 Day Bandh” in the Jangalmahal areas.

The cabinet is a collective responsibility in a democracy. The Prime Minister is accountable to the entire nation for the activities of his ministers. He cannot deny or avoid his responsibility. There are only two options before him now.

(1) He should sack Mamata Banerjee and other ministers belonging to her party immediately and put all of them behind bar for trial for collaborating with anti-national terrorist outfits in waging war against the nation;

OR

(2) Take immediate necessary steps to desist them from taking recourse to such anti-national and anti-people activities.

TOPMOST MAOIST LEADER WANTS TO SEE RAILWAY MINISTER IN THE CHAIR OF CHIEF MINISTER OF WEST BENGAL

On 03-10-2009 the “Ananda Bazar Patrika” a widely circulated Bengali daily in West Bengal has published in details a telephonic interview of one of the top Maoist leaders Koteswara Rao @ Kishenji. In the interview he has said that Mamata Banerjee is the fittest person to become the next Chief Minister of Bengal. So his organization wants to see her reaching the position and he also advised her to snap her ties with the Congress. He supported all the decisions and activities of TMC and at the same time opined that Mamata Banerjee and her party alone is enough to gain majority in the next assembly elections to be held in 2011. He has also advised her in details how to act after becoming the Chief Minister.

There is no denying that Mamata’s affectionate relations with Maoists are a ground reality and an open secret in the politics of West Bengal. The Maoists have time and again admitted in various documents published from time to time that their armed cadres are with Mamata Banerjee at Nandigram, Singur, Lalgarh, Jangalmahal, Keshpur, Garbeta and other places. They consider her as their most trusted ally and as the only alternative to the Left Front Government.

In this connection, it would not be out of place to mention that very recently Shri Ved Maroa, Chairman, Task Force relating to national security has submitted a detailed report to the Home Ministry alerting it about the large scale infiltration of Maoists in the Trinamool Congress. The infiltration is so much that now Maoists want Mamata Banerjee as the next Chief Minister of Bengal so that they can infiltrate into the administration.

As a matter of fact, the Maoists believe in the 'annihilation of class enemies' and in extreme violence as a means to secure organizational goals. It has affirmed its commitment to the classical Maoist strategy of 'protracted armed struggle' which defines its objectives not in terms of the seizure of lands, crops, or other immediate goals, but the seizure of power. Within this perspective, participation in elections and engagement with the prevailing 'bourgeois democracy' are rejected, and all efforts and attention is firmly focused on 'revolutionary activities' to undermine the state and seize power.
Dr. Manmohan Singh considers the Maoists as the single largest threat to the international security of the country.

The terrorist organization has already created a reign of terror in various parts of the country. Thousands of people and police personnel have already been butchered by it. Hundreds of bridges, railway stations, schools, mobile towers and other national properties have been blown. It has been able to create a large quantum of free zone with the help of antinational terrorist outfits supported, financed and guides by inimical countries and forces across the border.

Considering large scale terrorist antinational activities this organization has already been banned by the Central Government. But it is surprising to see that one of the important Central Cabinet Ministers and six other Ministers of the State belonging to TMC are actively and directly hand in gloves with this outlawed organization. Mamata Banerjee holds one hand to Dr. Manmohan Singh and the other to the Maoists. Her political platforms and various official railway functions are shared by well known Maoist-Naxalite terrorists, and pro-Maoist intellectuals. This has been sending wrong signals not only to the people of this nation but also abroad.

With the arrest of dreaded Maoist terrorist Chatradhar Mahato from Lalgarh, more and more startling and shocking disclosures about the unholy alliance of Mamata Banerjee with Maoists are coming to light.

The people of the country are very much confused and aggrieved over this alliance and hobnobbing of Mamata Banerjee with a banned terrorist organization. Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of UPA, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shri P. Chidambaram should, therefore, clarify in details the whole matter and their stand to the nation immediately.

RAILWAY MINISTER REWARDS HER SYCOPHANT INTELLECTUALS

West Bengal is the only state where elections to the Assembly, Municipalities, Panchayats and other local self governments are held regularly, timely, peacefully and smoothly. Here the leftists have all along been commanding the unequivocal confidence and support of the working class and downtrodden masses. The Left Front Government is in power for more than 33 years showing alternative path to the rest of the country like the North Star. The state government has been able to safeguard and uphold the interest of the peasants, workers and toiling masses. The Members of the Parliament belonging to the mainstream Leftist Parties are on the forefront in the struggle against anti-people and anti-national policies of the Central Government both inside and outside the Parliament. As a result of their vehement opposition, the signing of the Indo-American Nuclear Pact inimical to the interests of the country was delayed. The Leftists have, therefore, become the main enemies of the Congress Party, the American Imperialism and the big business houses. All of them have, therefore, ganged up with money, media, purchased bankrupt intellectuals and terrorist outfits of all order to destabilize the leftist movement in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee and her rainbow alliance is their creation as was done to subvert Hungary, Checkslovakia, Poland and other Communist ruled countries in Europe.

Most of the ‘so-called’ anti-Communist intellectuals supporting Mamata Banerjee and Maoists had either remained silent or actively supported the semi-Fascist terror of 1972-1977 and the Emergency imposed by Smt. Indira Gandhi on the nation them on political considerations. At that time, their Supremo Mamata Banerjee was part and parcel of both the semi Fascist terror and the Emergency. Hundreds of youngsters were brutally murdered within different jails of West Bengal by the then Government. These intellectuals supported it. When their ‘Didi’ did not allow Jay Prakash Narayan to address a meeting at Calcutta University in 1974 and danced indecently on the bonnet of the car in which he was travelling, these intellectuals were nowhere to criticize the incident. Some even hailed Mamata. Some of their politician-turned-retired-bureaucrats had played enthusiastic role in the implementation of Semi Fascist terror and the Emergency during this period.

With the installation of the Left Front Government in 1977, these greedy and self-seeking intellectuals changed side and got deeply engaged in sycophancy of the leftist leaders for purely personal gains. Most of these ‘so-called’ intellectuals were seen sticking to the Chief Minister of West Bengal wherever he went and other leaders of the Left Front like leeches and parasites for earning undue favours. During this period they tried to prove their over loyalty to them. Their proximity and shameless adulation during these 32 years of Left rule enabled them to manage unduly and improperly flats, lucrative plots of valuable lands in posh areas, employment and berths in different places of profit making not only for themselves but also for their near, dear and far ones.

When they realized that no more facilities or concessions could be extracted, they have changed side again assuming that the days of the Left Front were numbered. The Nandigram issue was nothing but a lame excuse to cross over the side and joined the bandwagon of Mamata Banerjee and Maoists in the name of fighting for agricultural land, environment and human rights.

During this unfortunate engineered incident of 14 deaths at Nandigram, the enslaved intellectuals along with media and terrorist outfits had unleashed a flood of distorted, malicious, false, concocted fabricated and frenzied propaganda and campaign of mass murder, rape and so on against CPI (M) as was repeatedly done in the past against Communists during the Indo-China War, Indo-Pakistan War, Rabindra Sarovar Stadium incident, murder of Hemanta Bose and alleged rape of Chapala Sardar on the eve of Panchayat elections in 1998.

From 01-09-2008 till now more than 160 CPI (M) supporters of different castes and religions including 56 tribals, 37 Muslims and 58 Scheduled Castes have been butchered by Maoists, TMC, Congress and SUCI goon. Thousands have already been evicted from their home, land and profession. Their females have been raped and molested. Their houses torched and plundered and razed to ground. But these perverted intellectuals have been shamelessly and horribly glorifying the butchering of CPI (M) supporters instead of criticizing the spilling of human blood of people irrespective of political affiliation.

When the joint force moved into Lalgarh on 18-06-2009 for operation against Maoists and other native and cross the border terrorist outfits to curb their antinational, uncivilized and barbaric activities, the ‘so-called’ intellectuals sold out to imperialists, land mafias and big business houses rushed there with a pledge to save and shield Chatradhar Mahato and his goons and murderers. They, with their obligation to imperialism, unsuccessfully tried to raise uproar in the name of violation of ‘so-called’ human rights of the terrorists and butchers in Lalgarh in order to appease Mamata Banerjee.

It is shocking to say the least that this dishonest and fraudulent gang of anti-Communist, anti-leftist and hypocrite intellectuals still shamelessly and unsuccessfully boast and pretend themselves to be ‘neutral’ and ‘impartial’. Their main function and responsibility is to glorify the Fascist leader and encash any incident in order to accredit enormous political mileage to her who is nothing but a personification of indiscipline, arrogance, blatant lies and duplicity and instal her as the next Chief Minister of the state as planned and designed by imperialists and corporate sector companies.

Some of them have already been successful in managing from their ‘Didi’ Life Long Free A.C. Railway Passes with one companion and berths on various Railway Committees especially set up to accommodate them at huge public expenses. Now, they have been standing in queue jostling and elbowing at the door of Mamata Banerjee for tickets to State Assembly Elections in 2011, Padma Shree, Padma Bhusan, Padma Vihusan and other national awards for their shameless sycophancy and slavery.

RAILWAY MINISTERS REPRESENTS MAOISTS IN THE CABINET OF DR. MANMOHAN SINGH

The Left Front Government in West Bengal was installed in the year 1977. Thereafter, during all these 33 years elections to the Assembly, Lok Sabha, Panchayats, Municipalities and other local Self-Government Institutions were held again and again on regular basis. In each and every election, the Left Front emerged overwhelmingly with huge margins. But not even a single Congress or TMC or SUCI or Maoist or any other opposition worker was killed or evicted or tortured. The common people of West Bengal had been habituated to peaceful undisturbed and uninterrupted normal life from 1977 to 2009. This is what Parliamentary Democracy demands and desires.

But on gaining some Lok Sabha seats in 2009, Mamata Banerjee, a personification of indiscipline, arrogance, dictatorial behavior and duplicity, has let loose widespread reign of terror and horror in the entire state with the help of Maoists, Naxalites, anti-national terrorist outfits, criminals, antisocials, lumpens and spineless greedy sycophant Leftist-hater intellectuals. She is trying to convert the whole state into a killing field and paradise of anarchy. Hundreds of CPI (M) and other leftist workers and cadres have already been butchered by her rainbow alliance at Lalgarh and other places. Thousands have been evicted and tortured. Besides, many women have been raped and molested by her hooligans and goons during this period.

The society demands timely disposal of the dead body of even a creature. But the entire world witnessed with horror how the dead bodies of 4 poor tribal CPI (M) cadres murdered by Maoist-TMC Alliance were kept in open for 5 days without disposal by the Maoist-TMC criminals at Lalgarh in West Bengal. Their relatives were neither allowed to come near nor touch the bodies. The Maoists and TMC workers danced and sang around the bodies in the same manner as is practiced by cannibals. Their brutality and inhumanity surpassed all limits of human tolerance and society.

In a three day conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police of State Governments organized by Intelligence Bureau in New Delhi on and from 14-09-2009, both Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister and Shri P. Chidambaram, Home Minister had some harsh words for the states for their poor handling of Maoist and insurgency problems and advised them to take necessary drastic steps against Left Wing extremism and other anti-national terrorist outfits in the larger interest of the nation.

In this connection, it would not be out of place to mention that it is as clear as crystal to the whole world that the Railway Minister and her six Central Ministers belonging to TMC are actively hand in gloves with Maoists in West Bengal. They not only support the terrorist outfits openly without any hesitation or shame but also have regular meetings with them and provide Maoists with arms & ammunition, fund and manpower. Maoists, being the hired killers of TMC, have been perpetrating one after another gruesome crimes sending a chill down the spine of every reasonable and right thinking citizen of the country. Their one and sole objective is to change the loyalty of the people from CPI (M) to Mamata Banerjee and her party TMC. So far she has not uttered even a single word against the brutalities of Maoists in Lalgarh, Nandigram, Singur and other places. On the other hand, she has again and again tried to shield and shelter them denying their involvement in the ghastly murder of tribals and people from other sections of the society. She does not stop here only. She has also gone to the far of denying their presence in those areas. In fact, the workers of TMC, Congress and SUCI have got intermingled with Maoists. Until now not even a single TMC or Congress or SUCI worker has been killed by Maoist butchers. Apart from this, Maoist and Naxalite leaders are seen openly on her political platforms. Mamata Banerjee and her Ministers & leaders have easy and safe access to Maoist infested zones. It is n open secret that the Maoist leader Chatradhar Mahato is a well known TMC leader of Lalgarh. The public statements made by Maoist leaders Kishenji and Bikash substantiate beyond doubt that Mamata Banerjee and Maoists are one and same.

So, to be fair in all respect, instead of playing duplicity on the nation in the form of giving advice to the statement governments, it will be better on the part of both Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shri P. Chidambaram should first of all clarify as to whether they have their support to the subversive and antinational role of Mamata Banerjee and the six Central Ministers and take immediate necessary steps against them for hobnobbing with and misusing desperately terrorist outfits and antinational forces for petty and narrow political gains. Mere lectures on terrorism will neither serve any purpose nor make the people fool.

CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME.

WHY RAILWAY MINISTER OPPOSES LAND ACQUISITION ACT, 1894

Mamata Banerjee opposes Land Acquisition Act, 1894. Why?

Most of the real estate promoters, land sharks and suppliers of building materials in and around Kolkata are leaders of TMC led by Mamata Banerjee. They have been amassing huge wealth and property by way of playing the role of middlemen in acquiring land for real estates and establishment of industries. They are also engaged in forcible grabbing of lands from the poor and helpless landowners. The latest incident at “Vedic Village” is a glaring example as to how agricultural lands were grabbed forcibly for real estate business. In this incident, Arabul Islam, TMC MLA and other TMC leaders such as Gaffar Molla, Kalo Babu are actively involved. If the land is acquired by the state government through Land Acquisition Act, 1894 for the establishment of industries, these land Mafias belonging to TMC will be monetary losers. This is why they actively and aggressively supported Mamata Banerjee with huge money, muscle power and arms & ammunition in her violent agitation against acquisition of land for Chemical Hub at Nandigram, Tata’s Nano Factory at Singur and industries in other places. In order to save the land mafias and encourage flourishing of their business, Mamata Banerjee vehemently opposes the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 for election gains.

EXTENSION OF KOLKATA METRO RAIL

The eight-and-a-half kilometer long Tollygunge-Garia extension of Metro Rail in Kolkata is a Joint Venture of the Central Government and the Government of WB built at a cost of over Rs.1100 crores. The initiative to start this project was taken up by the State Government in 1998 itself. It has shared more than 33% of the total cost involved in the project. Besides, at Baisnabghata-Patuli Satellite Township it has rehabilitated all the people evicted along Tolly Nullah in course of implementation of this joint venture. During the entire implementation period Miss Mamata Banerjee had opposed the joint venture vehemently. Miss Mamata Banerjee being the Railway Minister inaugurated the project on 22nd August, 2009. But surprisingly, she did not invite the Chief Minister of West Bengal, the Mayor of Kolkata and the State Government to the inaugural function. Moreover, without consulting state government she has named the stations of the joint venture unilaterally and shamelessly.

NO EFFECT OF AUSTRITY DRIVE ON RAILWAY MINISTER

Mrs.Sonia Gandhi, Shri Rahul Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Shri Pranab Mukherjee and other leaders of UPA have now-a-days occupied the captions of TV Channels and the print media for taking recourse to journey by “Economy Class” in air flights as a part of their ‘so-called’ austerity drive. But they are silent as to whether they have cut down the expenditure incurred on their accommodations, security, attendants and other facilities, amenities & perquisites to keep pace with the present hard days of existence. Besides, nothing is said about Mamata Banerjee and six other Central Ministers belonging to TMC. Most of the days they are in West Bengal engaged in provincial politics. Instead of performing their constitutionally allotted duties as Central Ministers of the entire nation, they are hell bent on inciting violence in different parts of the state using their portfolios forgetting that huge expenditure is incurred on them from the exchequer for serving the entire nation. Their activities trigger the impression to gain ground that they are Ministers for Bengal only. Dr. Manmohan Singh should place before the nation immediately the performance record of Mamata Banerjee and her Central Ministers from West Bengal.

RAILWAY MINISTER PLAYS WITH THE LIVES OF RAILWAY PASSENGERS

As a result of unscientific, slaughtering, indiscriminate and illegal coal mining operation carried out for more than 200 years by both private and Coal India Ltd. a vast stretch of land falling within Raniganj Coalfields in W. Bengal and Jharia Coalfields in Jharkhand have become unsafe and risky. Occurrence of subsidence, gas, fire etc. under and near railways tracks have become a regular feature. In 1997 itself DGMS, Dhanbad had declared 171 locations dangerous & unsafe. By now the list has become lengthier. The railway tracks running to North India from Howrah & Sealdah Railway Stations stand on these dangerous zones of the two coalfields. In order to earn narrow political mileage adamant Railway Minister has introduced “DURANT EXPRESS” from Howrah & Sealdah to New Delhi without considering minimum safety aspect of innocent passengers. Will railway tracks standing on land vulnerable to subsidence and landslide will be able to withstand the bullet speed of “DURANT EXPRESS’?

100 DAYS OF MAMATA BANERJEE AS RAILWAYS MINISTER

Ø Mamata Banerjee has very successfully and efficiently been able to convert the Indian Railways into personal property of her and her party.

Ø Her party flags remain hoisted and unfurled everywhere inside, outside and at the top of most of the railway stations in West Bengal.

Ø Even on 15th August, 2009 instead of National Flag, her party flags were hoisted at the top of the administrative buildings of Bandel and Kadambgachi Railway Stations in West Bengal.

Ø Besides, she hoisted the National Flag at midnight of 14th August, 2009 in gross violation of the relevant provisions of the concerned acts and laws.

Ø Most of the Railway Stations have been turned into her party office. These are controlled by her party men. Her supporters travel in trains without tickets under the impression that it is their private property and fundamental right.

Ø The official functions of the Indian Railways have been used as a platform to preach and propagate her ideas and politics and promote her party interests.

Ø In every official function of the Indian Railways, few perverted greedy sycophant ‘so-called intellectuals’, people having loyalty to her only, her party hooligans and party leaders are allowed to remain present all along. She remains surrounded by Naxalite and Maoist leaders, who manage and control the entire function. The railway officials are mere onlookers.

Ø Having been ailed by the wailings of private enterprises due to ongoing global economic recession she has started pursuing with added zeal steadfast privatization of the Indian Railways under the guise of Public Private Partnership (PPP)

Ø She has already taken a decision to hand over 1, 22,000 acres of unused surplus land of the Indian Railways to commercial entrepreneurs as bonanza for construction of Luxurious 5 Star Hotels, Shopping Malls, Restaurants, Real Estates, Resorts, etc. through Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projects in spite of knowing fully the fact that most of these lands are agricultural and acquired by the respective state governments for a particular purpose of expansion of Indian Railways only. Hence, in terms of relevant provisions the concerned acts these lands cannot be used for any purpose, whatsoever, other than the particular purpose for which they have been acquired under Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

Ø Life long AC Free Railway Passes have been distributed gratuitously and charitably amongst some listed perverted, bankrupt, spineless and greedy ‘so-called’ intellectuals loyal to her and amongst her sycophants.

Ø These blind anti-Communist, anti-Leftist, anti-working-class and anti-toiling masses ‘so-called’ intellectuals hankering after National Awards, money and special privileges for themselves and their near-ones are accommodated berths on Railway Committees especially set up for the purpose at huge public expenses.

Ø Without consulting the State Government or taking the approval of the Statutory Committee of the Indian Railways she has named railways stations unilaterally and whimsically.

Ø Instead of maintaining austerity, huge public money of the Indian Railways is spent extravagantly on her publicity and in every function of the Indian Railways attended by her.

Ø In the name of saving “agricultural land” and ‘environment’ she with the help of Maoists, Naxalites, SUCI, land Sharks, Land Brokers, Land Mafias, real estate promoters, hardened criminals, industrial competitors, few perverted, dishonest, self-centered, sycophant, spineless, greedy anti-Communist, anti-Leftist, anti-toiling masses ‘so-called’ intellectuals, did not allow forcibly coming up of much-awaited Chemical Hub at Nandigram, Tata’s Nano Factory at Singur, expansion of National Highways, construction of Hospitals, I.T. Parks, Bridges, Aerodromes, Industries, Thermal Power Plants, etc. in West Bengal.

Ø Now the Indian Railways under her minister-ship is actively in process to acquire 35,000 acres of prime 2-crop/3-crop agricultural land for the railways under the same Land Acquisition Act, 1894 which she opposed violently in Singur, Nandigram and other places for pushing her narrow political agenda.

Ø The Tollygunge-Garia Extension of Metro Rail in Kolkata costing over Rs.1100 crores is a Joint Venture of Central Government and State Government. It was initiated by State Government in 1998 itself. It has shared above 33% of its cost. Besides, it acquired land and rehabilitated all evicted people. During its entire execution period Mamata Banerjee opposed the project vehemently and forcibly along with hooligans of CPI (Maoist), Naxalites and her party to sabotage the project. After becoming the Railways Minister she has shamelessly started claiming for herself all credits for the same and inaugurated the project on 22nd August, 2009 after naming its stations unilaterally without inviting Chief Minister and the Mayor of Kolkata. The entire function was turned into her party’s platform for political campaigning and merrymaking of her sycophant perverted ‘so-called’ intellectuals and hooligans.

Ø The abnormal haste in starting the Tollygunge-Garia Extension of Metro Rail without ensuring required safety measures and infrastructure for gaining political mileage only has landed the ever increasing number of passengers in great danger and risk.

Ø 500 acres of prime agricultural land is being acquired for expansion of railways from Howrah’s Borogachia to Hooghly’s Champadanga.

Ø In the name of construction of 1000 MW Power Plant at Adra, more than 66, 70,000 valuable full grown trees are being felled showing thumb to the statutory provisions.

Ø Railway Officials such as Station Manager and Station Master of Srirampur Railway Station in West Bengal, who are actively engaged in promoting her politics by way of opposing the Left Front and its mass organizations, have been rewarded adequately.

Ø Most of the “Lady’s Special Trains” introduced by her are running in loss for non-availability of passengers.

Ø She has provided the gimmick of new employment but not a single word she uttered about filling up the 1, 72,444 posts lying vacant in the Railways.

RAILWAY MINISTER TURNS METRO RAILWAY OF KOLKATA INTO A HELL

Now-a-days the Metro trip has become a nightmarish ride. The commuters have to brave the ordeal of abusive words and accusing eyes in overcrowded trains. Horrible experience of jostling and elbowing is invariably associated with the journey. At peaks hours it is really difficult to board the Metro. Most of the time the coaches burst at their seams. The sliding doors refuse to close as a result of heavy rush. Late running of trains has become a routine affair. Besides, the commuters are inconvienced by the naming of the stations between Tollygunge and Garia.

There is no denying the fact that before extension it was no so.

Names are associated with the history of the place. Stations on the old Metro stretch have names of places like ‘Dum Dum’, ‘Belgachia, ‘Sovabazar’ and so on. When one asks for a ticket for any of these places it sounds very correct and normal. There are only four stations on this stretch named after great persons like “Jatin Das Park”, “Girish Park”, “Rabindra Sadan” and “Netaji Bhavan”. But it would sound somewhat odd and ridiculous if the words “Park”, ‘Sadan’ or ‘Bhavan’ were not there. The names of places would have been more helpful.

Renaming railway stations in remembrance of celebrities and martyrs for petty political gain is a matter of shame and disgrace. When at the ticket counters commuters shout “Give me three Nazrul” or “Please one Masterda” or “I want two Uttam Kumar” does it glorify those great men? Do those not sound ludicrous?

Mamata Banerjee in an official-turned-party function attended by the Governor of West Bengal, her party supporters and some sycophant “so-called” intellectuals singing, dancing and performing tricks and feats of jugglery to her tune inaugurated the joint venture project on 22nd August, 2009 in an abnormal haste without inviting the state government in order to earn narrow political mileage without considering the safety, security and convenience of the commuters. She named the metro stations without consulting the state government out of insular political considerations.

Metro is a national property. But she thinks the Indian Railways and the Metro to be her personal property. Her action is nothing but insult and humiliation of the great persons. She has practically been successful in reducing them to a laughing stock. Will the people of the state ever forgive her for this sort of whims and caprices translated into reality at the cost of the nation?

WHAT MAOIST TOP LEADER KISHANJI SAYS ABOUT RAILWAY MINISTER

18TH JUNE 2009

Maoist leader Kishanji: “People will block the roads, the armed forces that come will be taught a lesson, the central govt., the Buddhadeb govt. will be taught a lesson…We are asking Mamata too, she was with us in Nandigram…now we want to know what stand she will take. She is now in the cabinet, the sole member from her party… The tribals here are sitting in protest against the Paramilitary forces, ready to fight them. Which side will Mamata support is what we want to know.” (NDTV)

20TH JUNE 2009

Kishanji: “She is playing a political game. Even though she is a member of the Central Cabinet, she has not said a single word against sending Central forces to Lalgarh. Now, to gain sympathy in West Bengal, she is saying that the police and the CPI (M) unleashed a reign of terror in Jangalmahal. This is clearly a case of double standards on her part. The mask has fallen from her face…After the Lalgarh movement started, Mamata Banerjee visited Lalgarh. The locals allowed her to visit this place. But now she will not be able to come to Lalgarh or any parts of Jangalmahal. We have also decided that we will prevent her from entering Nandigram and Singur, where we were part of the movement.” (Asian Age)

22ND JUNE 2009

Kishanji: “Mamata’s real interest is to grab power in West Bengal. Had she been sincere, she would have stepped down from the Union cabinet because the Centre has joined hands with the state government to unleash a reign of terror in Lalgarh” (India Today)

3RD OCTOBER, 2009

“Mamata Banerjee is the fittest person to become the next Chief Minister of Bengal… We want to see her reaching the position…. We shall work in enabling her to gain this goal… She should snap immediately her ties with the Congress. We support all the decisions and activities of TMC…. Mamata Banerjee and her party alone is strong enough to gain majority in the next assembly elections to be held in 2011…She should ………” (Ananda Bazaar Patrika, Mamata Banerjee’s own mouthpiece)

INDIAN RAILWAYS AT THE SERVICE OF MAOIST UNDER ORDER OF MAMATA BANERJEE

Bratya Basu is a well-known pro-Mamata Banerjee and pro-Maoist dramatist. He is notorious for his blind anti-CPI (M) stand. He maintains regular close contacts with the Maoists. He has also visited Lalgarh a number of times to encourage them in their destructive activities and butchering of poor innocent people. During the last Parliamentary Elections this man had very actively worked for the candidates of Mamata Banerjee.

This so-called intellectual has done a shooting of a pro-Maoist feature film from 6th October, 2009 to 13th October, 2009 at Noongola in Howrah which falls within the own area of the Indian Railways. The film is purely a politically motivated one and is not connected with the railways in any way.

It is surprising to see that throwing all rules and regulations to winds, Mamata Banerjee had instructed in writing the railway officials and employees to be on duty to help the shooting in two shifts.

This is nothing but blatant misuse of the Indian Railways for the cause of the anti-national Maoists who are engaged in blowing up bridges, railway stations, rail tracks and other properties of the Indian Railways and in kidnapping railway officials in different states of the country.

Again and again, Dr. Manmohan Singh has termed the Maoists as the largest single threat to the internal security and safety of the country. At present, the central forces with the help of state forces are on joint offensives against the butcher Maoists in a number of states. But one of his important Central Ministers is directly in link with the Maoists and defending them publicly.

The nation, therefore, wants to know how long will he tolerate Mamata Banerjee in his cabinet?

PRIVATISATION OF INDIAN RAILWAYS

On 29-09-2009 Sudhir Kumar, Executive Director, Electrical Engineering (Development), Railway Board has issued a Global Tender inviting private entrepreneurships to quote for building a factory at Dankuni for the manufacture of modern railway engines on the basis of “Build On and Operate” principle. It is said in the tender that the Indian Railways would lease out 300 acres of land after developing it by way of spending Rs. 123 crores. The Indian Railways will be bound to purchase at least 100 engines from this private factory every year.

So far Mamata Banerjee not only talked high against privatization but also did not forcibly allow coming up factories at Singur, Nandigram and other places in West Bengal in the name of saving agricultural land. She used the Maoists and other anti-national forces for this purpose.

But now she herself is hell bent on gifting railway lands and properties to private entrepreneurships at nominal rates say free of costs.

In this connection, it is pertinent to mention that privatization of the Indian Railways started on the recommendations of the Prakash Tandon Committee in 1993.

Subsequently, the Rakesh Mohan Committee had submitted on 12-02-2001 its recommendations to the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for the corporatisation of 6 manufacturing units. She had not objected to the recommendations.

Now after eight long years, she has again taken initiative for the privatization of the Indian Railways. She has two purposes in mind.

(1) To hasten the death of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works which has been suffering for want of orders. The placement of order on this works has already been brought down to 60 from 150 every year by the Indian Railways.

(2) To hand over railway lands to the private entrepreneurships in spite of knowing fully that they were acquired under LA Act, 1894 for a particular purpose and not for handing over to private parties.

This is nothing but utter duplicity and fraud on the part of Mamata Banerjee. She thinks the people stupid and idiot. She also thinks that people believe and accept whatever she says and does. It is not understood how long the people go on tolerating this type of woman in the Indian politics.

WHAT TIMES OF INDIA SAYS ABOUT RAILWAY MINISTER

TIMES OF INDIA DATED 20-06-2009

Trinamool’s honeymoon with the Maoist began in Nandigram after the carnage in March 2007. Even if the Trinamool leaders would concede to this marriage of convenience, a document of the CPI (Maoist) meeting held between March 26 and April 1, 2008 reveals: “some people are trying to project the struggle in Nandigram as an unarmed mass movement. The fact is that the movement would not have survived for 11 months without armed resistance by the local militia. Some people are shying away from bringing this fact to the media. “Referring to the villagers driven out of Khejuri by the CPM brigade, the reports says, “Some of the Trinamool supporters gathered two dozens of weapons from outside. Initially, the Trinamool led the Bhumi Uchchhed Pratirodh Committee. But we took over the leadership in the villages since July. Since then, we worked in tandem with Trinamool Congress and chalked out programmes.” In fact, the Maoist strategist told about his leading the armed resistance against the CPM marauders during the second attack in Nandigram in 2008. “We were doing fine. But at the end, we fell short of bullets and had to beat a retreat”. Kishanji had told TOI in an interview.
